Testimonies and Letters

Letter we received from Joan Tyson, President of Good Samaritan Mission

Good Morning,

We took time off on Wednesday morning to visit some kitchens. While at El Jocote, Mario introduced me to a former delegate of the Catholic church for over 30 years and he gave his testimony to all of us. He received the Lord while the Vision4Eternity groups were here and his whole household has now been saved. They are holding meetings in a house close to the kitchen there in El Jocote and Pastor Jose goes there once or twice a week. They are praying for a church building. Mario asked him if he remembered the "pelon" (man with no hair) and he smiled and said "yes". That is you, Lanny.

It really showed me just how the Lord has used you all in your ministry here. Only the Lord knows how many more are like this man. You should have heard his testimony. He is now preaching the Word. I asked him the difference he felt when he was preaching for the Catholics and now that he is preaching for the Lord. He told me that before, it was like he was talking deep in a well and his voice was not heard. He said he was empty and didn't even understand what the message was all about and neither did the people. He said they didn't get anything out of it and he didn't either. His testimony was wonderful. It would be great when you come back if you could see him and just hear what God has done in his life and his entire family.. So don't ever think your work is in vain.

I am sending you a picture that I took. He has such a sweet radiance on his face and you can tell what he says is coming from his heart.

Now for the people on the mountain. We gave Jose about 40 food bags to take to them yesterday. He has a regular ministry there now. He and the church members go every week and they want to build a lean- to to meet under. I told him I would help him and we would use this for a kitchen that I want to start up there. I would love to go myself one day. A lot of these people are now saved and I understand that nearly all of them are those whose husbands are in prison and left them without a bite to eat. Pastor Jose loves this ministry. Pastor Mario has been up there with him preaching.

Please pray for us. The devil does not like what is going on and it is a constant battle but we are more than conquerors, the Bible says. We just need to have more faith and trust the Lord more to take care of the obstacles that come before us.
